What EditGuard stores
- Your store's domain and time zone.
- Your tasks: their names, selections, edits, schedules and guardrail settings.
- Run records: what each run would change or changed, what a pattern matched, what it skipped, the snapshot that lets it be undone, and what was left as you set it.
- Product and variant fields read from your store to compute changes: titles, descriptions, vendors, types, tags, handles, SEO fields, status, collection membership, metafields, SKUs, barcodes, weights, inventory policy and taxable.
What it does not store
EditGuard requests no access to orders or customers and does not store customer data of any kind. It stores no files and no images.
When data is deleted
Run records are kept for 30 days beyond the task they belong to, so a run can still be undone, and are then deleted. When you uninstall the app, everything stored for your store is deleted within 48 hours, when Shopify sends the uninstall notice.
Where data is processed
The app runs on a server in the United States.
Support mail you send to support@editguardhq.com is received in our business mailbox; a copy is forwarded to our transactional mail provider so that a ticket can be filed and acknowledged within a minute. Support requests may be processed with AI assistance to prepare a reply, on operator-controlled hardware or through an AI provider's API, to the same standard as the operator reading their own business mailbox, and are never shared for any other purpose. Every reply is read and sent by a person.
Support messages are kept, with your store's identity replaced by a code and with no customer details, to improve the quality of replies. This retention survives uninstalling the app; write to support to have your messages removed.
Who runs it
EditGuard is made and run by Ubuntu Life LLC. Write to support@editguardhq.com for any question about your data.
